Dear Parents and/or Guardians of MBES ELearners:

We will have a chromebook return day on

Wednesday May, 19th

1:00 - 3:00 pm

At McPheeter’s Bend Elementary School

We are asking that you bring your ELearner’s chromebook, and power cord back during that time.

The device will need to be checked to ensure everything is in proper working order. If you have lost the power cord, a $25 fee will be charged to replace it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the school at (423)357-6822.

Thank you for your help and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Hawkins County Schools will shift to a Green Phase, effective March 1. All students, except those approved to participate in eLearning and HCVA programs, will return to school, Monday through Friday, full day schedule. We are getting this word to you early so that you can make the necessary adjustments.

These plans, however, are subject to change if COVID numbers increase. Regional trends are all heading in the right direction over the last four weeks. We will keep best safety practices in place (mask recommendation, social distancing, no large group gatherings, no unscheduled visitors on campus, etc.) We will also support staff and parents who wish to extend their own practices for as long as necessary.

Second Harvest Food Bank will be providing a drive through mobile food pantry for families of Hawkins County School students. This event will be a safe social distancing event and families will remain in their car while the food box is placed in the trunk by student volunteers. The food distribution will be offered at the vocational buildings at both Volunteer High School and Cherokee High School. The mobile food pantry for today has be rescheduled and will be at Cherokee High School from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. and at Volunteer high School from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on March 4, 2021. This is a free event; however, families are required to preregister. A link to the registration form will be on the county website. If you have any questions regarding the mobile food pantry or if you need assistance with registering, please contact the Family Resource Center at 272-7629 ext. 2056 or 2052.
